After 2013's "We All Grow Toward the Sea", Snowflake's D. James Goodwin assembled his live band in the studio, to record a single, long form suite - an epic of failed space travel, absent love, and regret.

Recorded mostly live in the span of a weekend at Goodwin's studio The Isokon, Goodwin ultimately shelved the project to concentrate on other work, until early 2020 when he re-engaged, and found it was time to give it a proper life.
